Project
ANESTECH

ANESTECH is a healthcare innovation project coordinated by ISECO and the only healthcare project selected in the AVI 2025 – Strategic Cooperation Projects call for proposals. Its objective is to develop a new remote pre-anaesthetic assessment methodology, based on artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced cybersecurity protocols, which will enable the anaesthetic risk of patients to be stratified and predicted from their homes, in a safe, efficient and interoperable manner with hospital systems.

The solution will enable patients to independently capture images and videos and complete a digital pre-anaesthetic medical history questionnaire via their smartphone. This data will be analysed using advanced AI algorithms capable of remotely assessing the airway, estimating anaesthetic risk and automatically classifying patients into different risk levels, facilitating clinical decision-making and significantly reducing the need for face-to-face consultations.

ANESTECH is developed by a multidisciplinary consortium formed by ISECO (coordinator), S2 Grupo, the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia (IBV), the Research Foundation of the General University Hospital of Valencia (FIHGUV) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

The project represents a decisive step forward in the secure digitisation of the preoperative process, enabling the early identification of low- and high-risk patients, reducing the workload of healthcare professionals, avoiding unnecessary travel and improving accessibility, efficiency and patient safety, especially for the most vulnerable groups.

Technological innovations contributed:

The objectives set for the project are:

Improve the accessibility and efficiency of the pre-anaesthetic assessment process.

Automate anaesthetic risk assessment and screening from the patient's home.

Ensuring digital security and the protection of clinical data in AI-based environments.

Increase the quality, continuity and personalisation of healthcare, reducing the burden on the healthcare system.

The project has an approximate budget of €1.19 million and will run from November 2025 to December 2027.

This project (INNEST/2025/311) is supported by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI – IVACE+i Innovation) of the Valencian Regional Government, within the framework of the Strategic Cooperation Projects Programme, and is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund Programme (ERDF) Programme for the Valencian Community 2021–2027.

Project
MARIA

The MARIA innovation project (Improving Care for Residents and Patients using AI), developed by ISECO, is based on innovating and improving the functionality of the CALAS software to provide residential and hospital centres with updated and improved digitisation tools.

To this end, the R&D team focuses its efforts on incorporating new modules into the software and, therefore, on developing solutions based on the following main objectives:

The specific objectives focus on:

Generate a management dashboard that allows a large critical facility to be managed from a single control station.
Improving data reliability with Blockchain
Improve user support with AI techniques.
Improve residents' quality of life by incorporating environmental sensors to receive information about the environment in which residents find themselves.

The MARIA project has been subsidised by Red.es, within the framework of the 2021 call for research and development projects in Artificial Intelligence and other digital technologies, and their integration into value chains. The grant has been funded by the European Union through the Next GenerationEU Fund.

Project
DICARE

The DICARE innovation project is a collaborative project whose main objective is to bring together ISECO and DomusVi to incorporate technology into their residential centres, thereby improving residents' quality of life and facilitating the work of professionals. ISECO has integrated its CALAS application with GCR, the comprehensive management system for DomusVi centres.

This is a comprehensive transformation from an analogue to a digital model in the management of healthcare activities, known as the nurse-patient system.

The DICARE innovation project has been developed thanks to the grant awarded to ISECO and DomusVi by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE). This grant is awarded under the 2021 BUSINESS R&D&I PLAN FOR COOPERATIVE R&D PROJECTS, with a duration of 18 months (2021-2022).

This action is co-financed by the European Union through the ERDF Operational Programme for the Valencian Community 2014-2020.

This solution provides solutions for the following objectives:

Save time on administrative tasks to invest that time in being with the residents.
Eliminate paperwork and avoid errors by recording tasks directly on the room's touchscreen terminal, integrating them automatically into the management software.

Project
SAFE-ECH

The SAFE-ECH innovation project has the main objective of developing and implementing a monitoring and control system for the supervision of an elderly care facility, based on open communication standards, information management, interoperability, information representation, and reasoning.

The project has been carried out using ISECO technologies and the collaboration of Gero Residenciales SOLIMAR, which contributed its extensive business knowledge as well as the various challenges to be addressed. It also involved the participation of the Distributed Real-Time Systems Group at the UPV (Polytechnic University of Valencia), which contributed its experience in developing national and European research projects related to Sensor Web Enablement, programming interfaces, and HMI for different access devices.

Technological innovations provided:

The objectives set for the project are:

Increase safety for both residents and facility staff.

Improve the quality of care for the resident.

Improve the efficiency of the facility staff.

Automation of procedures with the ability to interoperate between different systems.

Optimize available resources.

Improve decision-making based on stored information. Dashboards.
